Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, South Bank, London SE1 8XX
London International Mime Festival London 2010

Actually taking place at four venues across central London - the Southbank Centre, Royal Opera House, Barbican Centre and Institute of Contemporary Arts - the London International Festival of Mime lays to rest any image you might have that mime is limited to figures dressed in black with white faces finding their way across panes of glass or facing strong winds.

The festival features some of the freshest and most creative visual arts, including dance, physical theatre, puppetry, circus and live art. Theatre groups comes from across Europe - notably France, Russia, Spain and Belgium as well as the U.K. - to perform a range of acts that include the world premiere of 'The Mill' from Ockham's Razor, directed by Toby Sedgwick, who recently won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreographer for the National Theatre production 'War Horse'. The performances blend with workshops, 'meet the artist' sessions and a lecture given by Tom Morris, Artistic Director of the Bristol Old Vic.

Travel: Take the District or Circle Lines from South Kensington tube station to Embankment and change to the Bakerloo line to Waterloo for the short walk to the Southbank Centre. For travel directions to other venues, please check the Journey Planner
