The extended name comes from the fact that this is one of three Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fairs that take place each year - in January, April and October - at The Marquee at Battersea Park. January's fair has a theme of "Pagodas & Pavilions, Eastern Influences in British Design" and over 130 exhibitors display the highlights of the many influences Eastern design has had on British design over 300 years and more - resulting from the expansion of British trade and, of course, the Empire.
There is a separate foyer focussing on Chinese design and almost everything on show is also for sale - much of it at very reasonable prices for what are unquestionably genuine antiques. There will be plenty of quite affordable objects on display - such as ornaments starting from around £50.00. Antique furniture on display is for sale at the same prices as you would pay in antique shops, so you can come not only to enjoy the displays but also with a view to decorating your home with objects or furniture that you neighbours could not also have.
Travel: Take the District or Circle Lines from South Kensington tube station 1 stop to Sloane Square and exit the station for the free shuttle car service - running every 10 or 15 minutes – to Battersea Park.
